The event, organized by experts from the Institute for Health Protection and the Alliance for Good Vaccination Practices, was an opportunity to discuss the latest developments, research and future challenges related to vaccination and social responsibility.
Dr. Nino Berdzuli, the new director of the World Health Organization's Office in Poland, was the guest of honor at the III Vaccine Forum. Her speech at the congress was her first public appearance at such an event in our country. As Dr. Nino Berdzuli emphasized, the role of vaccinations in building health cannot be overestimated.
- No one here needs to be convinced that vaccines are the most powerful innovation in the history of mankind, and that vaccination is the best investment. We know that without vaccinations there is no health security, ¿ they are very important in the strategy of disease prevention. This applies not only to vaccination in infancy and childhood, but also to promoting immunization throughout our lives," said the director of the WHO Office.
The breakthrough in recent months on the issue of vaccination in Poland was the launch of the long-awaited HPV vaccination program for 12- and 13-year-old girls and boys.
- No woman should die of cervical cancer because we have effective tools to prevent the disease. We have the HPV vaccine, which has the power to eliminate cancer. Unfortunately, the level of HPV vaccine prevalence in the States is not equal. There are serious inequalities in this regard, not only between countries, but also within countries. I would like to congratulate Poland for including the HPV vaccine in the national vaccination calendar and offering the vaccine to girls and boys," Dr. Nino Berdzuli stressed.
After the speech by the guest of honor, a session of panel discussions began. These were devoted to the prospects opened up by the increasing availability of artificial intelligence solutions in the promotion of immunization, the current challenges and future of immunoprophylaxis, the role of immunization in prevention and health promotion among active individuals, and the importance of opinion leaders in effective dialogue with patients online.
During the event, Vacc Award statuettes were also presented for the third time. In the Ace of Education category, it went to Professor Tomasz Sobierajski of the Center for Sociomedical Research at the University of Warsaw. In the Public Institution/Community Organization category, the award went to the Union of Employers of Innovative Companies INFARMA for creating the information campaign "Get vaccinated with knowledge." It was received by Nadia Łanowska-Wasielewska, coordinator of the campaign.
