- As an optimist, I am holding on to the fact that, first of all, we will soon receive full information on what is happening with all the applications that were submitted in this matter, and at the same time I am also holding on to this hope that molecular diagnostics for oncology patients will be on full offer by the end of this year," says Dorota Korycinska, chairman of the board of the National Federation of Oncology.
Tumors need to be diagnosed as soon as possible in order to start treating them as soon as possible. Molecular diagnostics, which is already standard in most European countries, will speed up cancer patient admissions and enable the implementation of effective personalized therapies.
The president of the National Federation of Oncology states that a cancer patient diagnosed more quickly thanks to molecular diagnostics and treated with precision is cheaper for the healthcare system than a patient with advanced cancer.
- If a patient is not diagnosed quickly enough, he or she waits longer to start treatment, and since treatment without molecular testing cannot be well tailored, the patient's therapeutic path is greatly lengthened. In cancer, there is no time for this," Dorota Korycinska points out.
