The "J-elita" Society invites patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, their relatives and all interested to the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Education Day, which will take place on Saturday, November 26 this year. at. 10.30 in the hall of the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences at ul. Fr. Trojdena 4 in Warsaw.

IBD Education Daysare open and free meetings that have been held for thirteen years
in the largest Polish cities. During the event, lectures on treatment, diet and dealing with problems related to the disease will be delivered by gastroenterologists, a pharmacist
and a nutritionist. You can also get free guides for sick children and adults and their relatives. There is also the possibility to ask questions to the experts.


The lectures will be given by:

prof. dr hab. n. med. Piotr Albrecht - Iron supplementation in IBD - is it really safe and how to do it?

There are almost 100,000 in Poland. people with IBD. The disease is manifested by severe abdominal pain, diarrhoea, fatigue, weight loss, and growth retardation in children. It is incurable and has periods of exacerbation and remission. It is associated with frequent hospitalizations. Patients often undergo surgery to remove part or all of their intestines. For many of them, the disease means disability and social exclusion.

The "J-elita" Society was established in 2005 on the initiative of patients and parents of children struggling z IBD, is the largest organization supporting patients with inflammatory bowel disease in Poland, with over 3,000 members and branches in 14 provinces.
