Discussion is the engine of change - speak up!
The "Accessible Gynecology" conference promotes the accessibility of gynecological services for women and people with disabilities. This year it will be held for the third time at the Targowa Creative Center in Warsaw. Participation is free of charge, and registration takes place via a form at: https://forms.gle/iVHQyX76GjCHro8v8. There is also accessibility information, directions, a schedule and a packet of essential information about the event at dostepnaginekologia.pl.
The conference is part of the "Accessible Gynecology" project, which helps spread knowledge beyond the information "bubble," offering hope for real change. This year's event lasts two days and has been enriched with a training day, during which the Bullet Warsaw Foundation, together with cooperating organizations, will conduct three training sessions focused on the needs of different groups related to the health care system.
"See us - all pushed to the margins of the discussion."
The idea of working on accessibility of gynecological services was born, like many social actions, out of a sense of powerlessness and injustice. Although the conference focuses on people with disabilities, the topics have expanded. Last year the discussion focused on gynecology and obstetrics, and this year the organizers are giving voice to groups that are marginalized, such as people with Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH), which they call "Seamless."
There will also be a discussion of the needs of those working in the health care system - their crises, feelings of being overlooked and needs that are often not talked about. Participants will also hear the voice of the thick-skinned, body-positive movement, as well as those working on the accessibility of gynecological and obstetric services for refugees and migrants. The Bullet Warsaw Foundation wants every person, regardless of their place of origin, to feel noticed.
The event is organized by the Bullet Warsaw Foundation with the support of Gedeon Richter and Winncare. Partners of this year's edition are Dom Pandy and the Invisible Education Center Foundation. Media patronage is provided by Niepelnosprawni.pl, Medycyna Praktyczna and Medexpress. Honorary patronage is held by the Ombudsman, the Patient Ombudsman and the Mayor of Warsaw.
