- We have lifted limits on hospice and palliative care, and are raising the valuation of these services. As of July 1, the valuation of services in psychiatry will increase. I have announced a competition for 3 billion zlotys to subsidize psychiatric hospitals for children and adolescents. They are in such a state that I am simply ashamed," Minister Izabela Leszczyna summed up her actions since she began leading the health ministry in Polish Radio's Signals of the Day program. She also mentioned the in vitro program and perinatal care. Izabela Leszczyna also explained her idea for restructuring hospitals.

- Despite the delays of the Law and Justice government, Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government has led to the fact that we have unblocked money from the KPO. My pool is a total of about 19 billion zlotys, of which 10 billion will go to hospitals," Minister Izabela Leszczyna said.
As she explained, half of the hospital pool will go to oncology care clinics, about 3 billion will go to cardiology, and 1.2 billion to long-term care.
- The oncology money will benefit 250 hospitals, not only clinical, highly specialized hospitals, but also county hospitals if they provide oncology care, the ministry head pointed out.
As she added, the law that would have led to the liquidation of district hospitals was changed to one that provides for their restructuring.
- We will sit down at the table with directors of regional branches of the National Health Fund, local government officials and hospital directors and show them the know-how. We will explain how to get hospitals out of debt. A team specially appointed to monitor and implement the concept we already have ready starts work today," the minister pointed out.
- If, for example, we had a delivery room where only a hundred babies were born, and we have a lot of seniors around who need care, then maybe we'd better make a nursing facility there. We also have ready a map of places where the delivery ward must stay, despite the low number of deliveries received - because there is no other one within a 40 km radius to go to. We will subsidize such wards. We will structure the lump sum in such a way that they will be able to sustain themselves," assured Izabela Leszczyna.
