The Health Ministry confirms that Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed the resignation submitted by Deputy Health Minister Maciej Miłkowski on Wednesday. His name has already been removed from the list of people who make up the ministry's leadership, published on the website. He resigned as undersecretary of state at the end of April.

Maciej Miłkowski, as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health since 2018, was in charge of drug policy. He was the only deputy minister of the Mateusz Morawiecki government with whom the new Council of Ministers continued to work.

Maciej Miłkowski graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics, as well as an MBA from the Leon Kozminski Academy of Entrepreneurship and Management in Warsaw - Management and Economics of Medical Technologies. He started his career in investment banking at Polski Bank Inwestycyjny.

From the beginning, in April 1998, he co-organized the Mazovian Regional Health Fund and became its first member of the board of directors for economic and administrative affairs and its financial director. From 2002, he ran the VICTORIA European Rehabilitation Clinic for three years.

From 2005 to 2007, he worked at the Mother and Child Institute as the director's plenipotentiary for finance and accounting and deputy director for economic affairs.

From June 2007 to January 2016, he was deputy director for economic affairs at the Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski Institute of Cardiology of the Primate of the Millennium in Warsaw.

Since February 15, 2016, he has served as Deputy President of the National Health Fund for Finance.
