The XXXII Economic Forum began in Karpacz on Tuesday (5.09.). The event is once again accompanied by the Health Care Forum, which includes three days of discussions on the problems and challenges of the health sector.

Much space during the first day of the Forum was devoted to problems related to the effectiveness of public health policy implementation. According to Deputy Health Minister Waldemar Kraska, the basis should be a synergy of action between central institutions, local governments and private entities.

- This is implemented by the Law on Public Health, which is the key act for public health in Poland. To this end, it provides for targeted activity and cooperation between the government, local governments, public benefit organizations and other entities in the field of public health. This multi-sectoral cooperation serves to take more effective action for the health of the entire population, the deputy health minister pointed out.

Meanwhile, the deputy head of the health ministry spoke about the challenges of prevention during the debate "Public Health - prevention, health education longevity".

- Thinking and talking about prevention should start from an early age," stressed Waldemar Kraska.

A similar view was expressed by Prof. Jaroslaw Pinkas, director of the CMKP School of Public Health, who noted that prevention should be carried out already in the youngest groups, but consistency is needed in this first and foremost.

However, the challenges of public health also include geriatric care, as pointed out by Dr. Marek Tombarkiewicz, director of the National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation

Among the panels on the health care system, the topic of drug policy could not be missed. During the Roundtable for Drug Policy, Deputy Health Minister Maciej Miłkowski stressed that over the past four years the health ministry has introduced significant solutions related to this area.

- We owe a lot to the informatization of health care. It allows us to conduct numerous analyses that assist us in the process of preparing the reimbursement list. A lot has been changed by the reimbursement law. We should now focus on reimbursement availability, but we also want to analyze and verify the list in terms of its effectiveness," noted Maciej Miłkowski.

On the other hand, during the panel "Safety, efficacy, monitoring - optimization of therapeutic processes," he noted that an additional task for the future is to work on the computerization of records of drug problems, which are part of medical records, in order to adequately monitor the patient and direct his treatment.

The XXXII Economic Forum in Karpacz will last until Thursday (7.09.). The agenda of health-related debates includes issues such as the National Oncology Network, rare diseases, unmet needs in hematooncology and challenges in neurology and psychiatry, among others.
