September 25, 2024 is the deadline for submitting an application to the Central Register of Persons Eligible to Practice a Medical Profession. This applies to those who met the statutory requirements to practice selected medical professions as of March 26, 2024.
This refers to those working in medical professions such as dental assistant, electroradiologist, dental hygienist, or pharmacy technician. The deadline is the final limit for applying for entry into the Central Register of Persons Authorized to Practice the Medical Profession, which will allow people to continue working in the profession after March 26, 2025.
Who is affected by the obligation to submit an application?
This obligation applies to those who, on March 26, 2024, the effective date of the Law of August 17, 2023 on Certain Health Professions, met the following criteria:
- They had the education or qualifications required to practice a medical profession listed in the annex to the law.
- Earned a master's degree, master's degree, master's degree or equivalent in a field of study before March 26, 2024, as defined in the June 14, 2017 regulation of the Ministry of Health, and worked in the profession within the five years preceding the entry into force of the law.
Submission of an application by September 25, 2024 ensures that those who meet these conditions will be entered in the register by March 26, 2025. Failure to enter may prevent the profession from practicing after that date.
Consequences of late submission
Those who do not apply for registration by September 25, 2024, run the risk of not obtaining registration before March 26, 2025. In that case, they will not be able to practice as of that date until they obtain registration.
New graduates
Individuals who obtain the qualifications or training required to practice a medical profession after March 26, 2024, must obtain registration before working in the profession. This obligation applies to every new employee in the medical profession, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
