Leszek Skiba, the president of Pekao SA, told about the conditions for granting loans for medical studies. From July 18 to the end of September, students will be able to apply for a maximum of 18,000. PLN to cover all costs related to the tuition fee for the previous semester. Later, for each semester, banks will grant loans up to 20,000. zloty. to cover the cost of studies.
To be able to apply for a loan, you must submit an appropriate certificate and show your ID card. However, all restrictions typical for ordinary loans will be removed, including the certificate of income. A student may not be able to receive a loan on normal terms, but, as Skiba noted, thanks to BGK's support and a guarantee from BGK, he will receive the loan. There is a grace period of up to 12 years for the loan period, which covers a maximum of 6 years of study. Then the physician has the opportunity to work off the loan and cancel it. Skiba added that for those students who do not decide to work in the public health care system (for the loan to be fully canceled, the doctor will have to work there for 10 out of 12 years of grace), it will be possible to spread the loan repayment for up to 18 years.
Mariola Piekarska, president of the International Association of Medical Students IFMSA-Poland, who thanked the Ministry of Health for the implemented solution and readiness to engage the community of medical students in the dialogue, also spoke during the conference. Soon after this speech in social media and on discussion forums of doctors and medical students, a storm broke out - most of the speakers accused Mariola Piekarska of breaking the organization's apolitical principle. It was asked whether she acted on her own behalf or whether she had the consent of at least the management board. In the evening, the IFMSA-Poland Audit Committee informed about the suspension of Piekarska from the activities of the President of the Association. - The reason for the decision is to act contrary to the statutory objectives of IFMSA-Poland.
