LEK too easy to pass. The medical association wants to change that

The results of the Medical Final Examination and the Medical-Dental Examination indicate that the current formula for these exams does not fulfill the expected functions.
In a situation where these exams are conducted in the form of written tests consisting of 30% new questions and 70% questions selected from an open database containing only about 2,000 questions, and where scoring 56% of the maximum number of points is sufficient to pass this exam, these exams neither test the knowledge of the examinees nor allow verification of the quality of education at universities training students in medical and medical-dental faculties. These exams should guarantee that a graduate of these majors is properly prepared to work as a doctor or dentist.
In this situation, the development of a new form of verifying the knowledge of future doctors and dentists seems necessary and will serve to improve patient safety and the quality of medical and dental education.
