Laboratory medicine: new regulations on improving professional qualifications

The main objective of the draft regulation is to regulate in detail the statutory obligation to improve professional qualifications by persons referred to in Art. 5 of the Act, i.e.: medical analytics technicians, persons with a bachelor's degree in the field of medical analysis and persons with a master's degree or a master's degree in engineering in the fields useful for performing laboratory medicine activities, through participation in continuous professional development, in order to update the possessed knowledge and constant training in the field of new scientific achievements. The draft provisions specify the template of the professional development card and the number of educational points for individual forms of continuous professional development, as well as forms of self-education enabling the implementation of continuous professional development.
Attachment No. 1 to the Regulation specifies a professional development card template for persons referred to in Art. 5 of the Act. Annex 2 to the regulation specifies the number of educational points for individual forms of continuing professional development, together with an indication of the document confirming the implementation of a given form.
Completion of continuous professional development consists in obtaining at least 100 educational points during the education period, of which at least 50 educational points must be obtained as part of the forms of continuous professional development referred to in § 3 points 1-6 of the regulation.
