"Thank you for the daily effort you make to save the most precious values - the life and health of Poles," wrote Health Minister Katarzyna Sójka in a post on social media. Today (8.09.) is the first time the Day of the Paramedic is celebrated. September 8 also marks World Physiotherapy Day.

"This year, for the first time, we celebrate Paramedic Day. On this occasion, I would like to extend my sincere wishes to all representatives of this profession. I would like to thank you for the daily effort you make to save the most precious values - the life and health of Poles, working on the first line of providing help. I salute you for the professionalism for which Polish paramedics are famous, and for your commitment to disseminating knowledge and skills in pre-medical first aid. I wish all Medical Rescuers satisfaction in providing help and a sense of professional fulfillment," wrote Katarzyna Sójka.

National Paramedic Day, in turn, was established by Article 1(2) of the Law of December 1, 2022, on the profession of paramedic and the paramedics' self-government.

September 8 also marks World Physiotherapy Day. Physiotherapists were also wished by the incumbent Health Minister.

"I thank you for your commitment and perseverance in your daily, difficult work, which brings so much good, as well as for the care and empathy shown to the sick. I wish you every good fortune, health and success in your professional and personal lives," the head of the health ministry wrote.
