The draft ordinance of the Minister of Health amending the ordinance on specialization in areas applicable to health care was submitted for consultation.
MZ: There will be a new field of health protection

The subject of the draft regulation is the introduction of a new field of health protection - medical molecular genetics , in which interested persons will be able to undergo specialist training. This will enable the improvement of professional qualifications as part of postgraduate education by acquiring additional knowledge and skills during specialization training. In addition, the draft regulation specifies a new model of the diploma confirming obtaining the title of specialist in a given field of health protection, referred to in Art. 43 sec. 1 of the Act of February 24, 2017 on obtaining the title of specialist in areas applicable in health care in accordance with the requirements set out in the Act of November 22, 2018 on Public Documents (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 1660, with as amended) for second category documents.
The aim of the proposed solutions is to define a new field applicable in health care - medical molecular genetics, in which interested persons will be able to undergo specialist training. The introduction of a new field of specialization training in the field of medical molecular genetics will enable people who have obtained the professional title of master's or master's degree in engineering or an equivalent degree in biology, biotechnology or microbiology, and will prepare specialists to conduct research to identify changes in the human genome, and molecular research, especially high-throughput genomic research in medicine. Specialists in the field of medical molecular genetics will find employment in specialized genetic laboratories. This solution will result in the healthcare system gaining highly specialized medical staff who will have knowledge and skills in performing specialized tests and additional diagnostic activities in genetic laboratories. Education conducted in the form of specialization training will ensure full supervision over the quality of education and the competences of future specialists. Specialization training will be conducted in accredited units, based on the specialization program approved by the minister responsible for health.
