- The main intention of the changes is to guarantee the consistency and completeness of medical data and the convenient and efficient work of doctors in information systems. In addition, the new regulations are designed to ensure the protection of patient data and facilitate communication between doctors and other medical units. As part of the update, we have taken into account the current legislation and requirements for medical records and the safe and correct issuance of prescriptions and orders. We want the new content of the medical stamp or imprint made within the computer system to be adequate to modern standards and the needs of doctors and dentists," explains NRL President Lukasz Jankowski.
The medical stamp or imprint made from the computer system contains the following data:
- name or names,
- professional title, i.e. "physician" ("lek.") or "dentist" ("lek. dent."),
- number of the right to practice.
The doctor's stamp or imprint made from the computer system may further include the following data:
- title and degree held,
- possessed specializations and professional skills, as specified in the diploma, certificate or certificate confirming their acquisition under the provisions of the Law of December 5, 1996 on the professions of physician and dentist,
- The name of the university and the field of study at which the doctor or dentist obtained the diploma,
- phone number including international prefix,
- address of residence,
- email address.
A physician or dentist who is a citizen of a member state of the European Union is entitled to use on the stamp or imprint made from the computer system also the original title specifying the education, obtained in a member state of the European Union other than the Republic of Poland, or its abbreviation.
The resolution of the NRL does not apply when separate regulations provide for the use by a physician or dentist of a stamp with the content specified by such regulations.
