Physiotherapy: From April 1, changes in home rehabilitation
Published March 27, 2023 11:54
On April 1, the January 10, 2023 order of the NHF president goes into effect. The original order stipulated the regionalization of outpatient home rehabilitation to the province and was to go into effect on January 1 of this year. Thanks to protests by the National Chamber of Physiotherapists, the regionalization was withdrawn, and the remaining changes were postponed until April 1.
The KIF's target intention is to introduce legislative changes that would remove the obligation to employ a physician in home rehabilitation performed in the outpatient scope.
The chamber argues that physician benefits in outpatient home rehabilitation in 2021 were 0.05%, and in 2022. - 0,06%.
Physiotherapists are an independent medical profession and by law have the ability to diagnose and determine a physiotherapy plan on their own. The obligation to employ a physician specifically dedicated to this purpose would place a financial burden, especially on small treatment centers. We therefore take the position that a doctor at this level should not be indicated as a requirement. We are in discussions with representatives of the National Health Fund and the Ministry of Health in this regard.
We hope that as a result of the talks, solutions will be put in place to increase access to physiotherapy at home, including the elimination of "white spots" identified in the health needs maps - KIF.
