The first lawsuit for the payment of the so-called The covid supplement for a contract doctor is informed by the National Board of the Polish Medical Trade Union. A doctor from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship will receive an additional salary for one month. He will fight for money in the coming months.

The authorities of the defendant hospital requested the dismissal of the lawsuit because a doctor struggling for a salary refused to work in the covid ward. As determined by the court, the physician was still exposed to direct contact with patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, due to the fact that he was admitting patients to the emergency room and the ward where he was employed.
"Until the very end, HRM appealed to hospital directors to apply to the National Health Fund for funds for covid supplements due to doctors, in accordance with the doctors' requests," reads a statement published by the Association.
“Unfortunately, many CEOs have rejected our appeals, considering we were wrong about which physicians are entitled to allowances. The court judgment cited at the beginning shows that the HRM correctly read the content of the regulations governing the granting of covid supplements, and that some directors misread. Today, hospitals managed by these directors will have to - according to court judgments - pay covid allowances from their own resources (instead of additional funds from the National Health Fund for these allowances) ", add union members.
The doctor will receive compensation from the hospital in the amount of PLN 15,000 for the month covered by the trial.
