On Tuesday, the government adopted a draft amendment to the minimum wage in health care. - This is a breakthrough act for Polish medics, which guarantees a systematic increase in salaries. We take into account the important role of nurses in it, wrote the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, on Twitter, thanking the Council of Ministers for the decision.

The draft amendment to the act on the method of determining the lowest basic salary of some employees working in healthcare entities will now go to the Sejm and will probably be processed - and possibly also passed - at the next meeting, i.e. next week. However, its entry into force before July 1 is not a foregone conclusion, as it is highly probable that the Senate will want to amend the law. Many organizations associating medical workers point out that the amendment, by increasing salaries for lower-income groups, flattens the entire minimum wage grid - this argument was also raised by opposition MPs during the recent meeting of the Health Committee, devoted to wages in the health sector.

How are the minimum wages in individual groups to be shaped in accordance with the project?
