Doctors reported to the RPL office after, via social media, a user using the nickname posted a post in which he accused medics of improperly providing health services. He used vulgar vocabulary, which, according to doctors, was demeaning and exposed them to the loss of social trust.
- Today, the Internet for many patients is a platform for gaining knowledge and opinions about doctors and the medical services they provide. Unfortunately, not everyone has the courage to share their opinion honestly. It should be appreciated that the prosecutor's office reacted appropriately to the report of our office and prosecuted the author of the defamatory entry ex officio. Anonymity on the Internet does not exempt from responsibility - assesses Monika Potocka, the Ombudsman for the Doctor of OIL in Warsaw.
The work of the medical ombudsman in this case is part of the strategy to counteract hate against the medical community. As part of the "Treat Hate" campaign carried out from 2021, among others, movie spots, which are designed to draw attention to the problem of hatred against medical professionals.
