- If we look at the demographic forecasts, it turns out that in 2050 we will have a percentage of people over 60 years of age at 40%. - said Adam Niedzielski during his speech during the session.
As the health minister added, nearly 70 percent of of the population over 60 years of age is suffering from multiple diseases.
- That is why, as a government, we made a declaration that health expenditure will grow fundamentally in the near future. They will grow to the level of 7 percent. GDP in 2027 and we are talking here about the minimum level to be achieved - announced the head of the Ministry of Health.
Let us remind you that now the level of health care spending is over 6%, and in 2015 it was 4.5%. As the Minister of Health added, the problem is not only the aging of the population, but also the aging of the medical staff. Therefore, the limit of enrollment in medicine at Polish universities is gradually increasing. This academic year, over 10,000 courses have been prepared for new students. places.
