The GrowSPACE Foundation is publishing data on child and adolescent suicide crises in 2023 for the second year in a row. The data comes from 17 public information requests to provincial police headquarters.

Figures compiled by the GrowSpace Foundation show that last year there were 2139 suicide attempts among people under 18, of which as many as 146 ended tragically. As the Foundation points out, the actual figures may be even higher, as not every suicide attempt is recorded by the police.
According to the Foundation, the 3 billion zloty budget for child psychiatry is a good step.
These funds should be spent now! The second year in a row that the number of suicide attempts exceeds 2,000 should alarm us strongly," says Dominik Kuc of the GrowSpace Foundation in an interview with Medexpress.
Among the recommendations for the use of funds from the 3 billion zloty for child psychiatry and oncology, representatives of the Foundation point to measures for so-called referral 0, development of community care and AOS, support of recovery assistants.
