Combo tests, i.e. three in one, have become benefits guaranteed in Primary Health Care. This means that they can be financed by the National Health Fund and patients will be able to perform the test free of charge at their family doctor. Filip Nowak, president of the National Health Fund, signed an ordinance on the rules for settling tests. The Fund will pay for the test itself and for its performance.

For the combo antigen test and its performance, the POZ clinic will receive almost PLN 34 (PLN 33.98). The costs were calculated by the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffs. The benefit is not limited, so the National Health Fund will pay for each ordered test and its performance. It is financed additionally, apart from the capitation rate, i.e. the basic salary of a family doctor.
- A message was sent to all POZ clinics with detailed information from the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products about manufacturers, importers and distributors of tests from which they can be ordered - explains Beata Szczepanek, spokesperson for the Świętokrzyskie branch of the National Health Fund.
The introduction of rapid antigen tests, which quickly detect infection with influenza virus (A or B), coronavirus or RSV virus, will greatly facilitate making the right diagnosis and applying adequate treatment. This is especially important in the case of excessive use of antibiotic therapy.
