Lupus: the most important thing is to get the patient quickly under the care of a rheumatologist

• Women are more likely to suffer from lupus, with some starting the disease at a very young age.
• In each patient, the disease progresses differently.
• The main problems for patients are pain and organ damage leading to disability.
• Late diagnosis means less chance of achieving remission.
• However, early diagnosis is not easy - there is no single test whose result will show that a patient has lupus.
• The most important thing is to get the patient under the care of a rheumatologist quickly.
• We meet patients who come from abroad to diagnose and treat lupus in Poland.
