The Minister of Health appointed members of the Patient Organization Council

The Council is the first ever permanent body composed of representatives of patient organizations in the Ministry of Health.
- This is a historic moment. Never before has such a Council been attached to the Minister of Health, said Adam Niedzielski, Minister of Health. - We involve you in work on changes in the health care system. The most important goal of the Council will be to consult legislative proposals. This proves that patient-centeredness is not just a declaration, but our priority, he added.
The council consists of 15 people appointed for 5 years. Candidates were nominated by the largest nationwide patient organizations registered for at least 5 years. In total, 55 candidates were nominated, of which the following persons were elected to the Council:
- Elżbieta Oleksiak - Polish Association of the Blind;
- Krystyna Wechmann - Federation of Amazonian Associations;
- Fr. Arkadiusz Nowak - Institute of Patient Rights and Health Education;
- Joanna Pietrusiewicz - Rodzić po Human Foundation;
- Jacek Hołub - Polish Society for the Support of People with Nonspecific Intestinal Inflammation "J-elita";
- Stanisław Maćkowiak - Federation of Polish Patients;
- Aleksandra Rudnicka - SANITAS Association for Fighting Cancer Diseases;
- Paweł Wójtowicz - MATIO Foundation for Help for Families and People with Cystic Fibrosis;
- Magdalena Kołodziej - MY Patients Foundation;
- Urszula Jaworska - Urszula Jaworska Foundation;
- Anna Śliwińska - Polish Diabetes Association;
- Piotr Fonrobert - Polish Cancer Patient Coalition and GIST Patient Aid Association;
- Małgorzata Durka - Union of Associations Coalition "For Help for the Independent";
- Piotr Dąbrowiecki - Polish Federation of Asthma, Allergies and COPD;
- Dorota Korycińska - OnkoCafe-Razem Lepiej Foundation, Alivia - Oncology Foundation, "Pokonaj Cancer" Foundation, Blue Butterfly Ovarian Cancer Association, Polska Alba Julia Neurofibromatosis Association, OmeaLife Foundation.
