The conditions of hospitalization of patients of the district hospital in Starachowice (Świętokrzyskie) will improve. The clinic has started the renovation of the General Surgical Department.

The department is to be enriched with a new intensive surveillance room with five beds. A waiting room for patients will also be built. Patients will have three new bathrooms at their disposal, and nine others will be renovated. All rooms will be painted and ten of them will be air-conditioned. The work comfort of the staff will also improve, thanks to the renovation of the nursing station.
- Now, the first stage of renovation works is underway, involving the dismantling of door frames and doors, as well as carpets, ceiling lamps and sanitary ceramics - says Małgorzata Kałuża, spokesman for the County Healthcare Center in Starachowice.
The value of the investment is over PLN 2.1 million. It will be almost entirely covered by the COVID-19 Counteracting Fund. Due to the renovation, the General Surgical Department was temporarily moved to another floor of the clinic building. Works are expected to be completed in mid-January.
