Change in position of national consultant in sexology

Dr. Andrzej Depko, a neurologist and sexologist specialist, has become the new national consultant in sexology.
Dr. Andrzej Depko, M.D., is the head of the Sexological and Intercourse Pathology Clinic in Warsaw. He serves as head of the postgraduate course "Clinical Sexology", conducted at the Center for Postgraduate Education at the Medical University of Warsaw. He teaches at the SWPS University of Humanities and Social Sciences. From 2004 to 2012 he was vice president of the Polish Society of Sexual Medicine. Since 2012, he has served as president of the Polish Society of Sexual Medicine. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Executive Board of the Polish Society of Sexology. Since 2008 he has been a certified forensic sexologist and supervisor of psychotherapy of sexual disorders of the Polish Society of Sexology. She has been a member of the European Society of Sexual Medicine since 2004 and the World Society of Sexual Medicine since 2006.
Dr. Andrzej Depko, M.D., specializes in the treatment of sexual disorders of men and women and is involved in forensic-sexological opinion. For many years he has been training doctors and psychologists in this field at workshops and lecturing at numerous symposia, conferences and congresses.
National consultants are appointed by the Minister of Health from among specialists in particular fields:
- Medicine,
- pharmacy,
- Other fields that are applicable to health care.
The minister may ask for candidates:
- scientific societies of national scope that bring together specialists in a particular field,
- The relevant health professional governments.
National consultants:
- initiate national epidemiological studies and evaluate the methods and results of these studies;
- forecast health needs in their field;
- advise on how to implement tasks that stem from the National Health Program and other health programs;
- Give their opinion on requests to refer a patient for treatment or diagnostic tests outside Poland;
- give opinions and advice on tasks carried out by the Center for Medical Examinations, the Center for Postgraduate Training of Nurses and Midwives and the Center for Medical Postgraduate Training.
