- The bill on the morning-after pill will be sent to the Diet. We are talking about over-the-counter access for people 15 and older. Under the age of 15, a prescription will be required. It is about one specific, mentioned in the bill," Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference after the Council of Ministers meeting.

- It's a method that prevents bringing about conception, so it's not an early abortion pill, it's a method that prevents pregnancy," the head of government stressed.

The solution, access to emergency contraception without a prescription, is used in almost all European Union countries.

- It will allow universal access to emergency contraception for all those for whom it was virtually unavailable until now. The fact that a prescription was required meant in many places in Poland that this availability was in fact not there," Donald Tusk said.

The prime minister is counting on a smooth procedure in the Sejm. He does not expect a presidential veto on this issue.

- It seems indisputable that this drug should be widely available to those interested," Donald Tusk concluded.
