Family doctors: We need to be sure that refugees from Ukraine are fully entitled to health services

According to the announcement by the president of the National Health Fund, the doctors of the Healthcare Employers' Alliance declare that they will undertake the provision of medical services to Ukrainian citizens. - However, we must be sure that our neighbors from Ukraine, who find themselves in need, are fully entitled to receive benefits financed from public funds, including prescriptions for reimbursed medicinal products - he writes to Filip Nowak, President NFZ, Bożena Janicka, president of PPOZ.

The announcement of the National Health Fund shows that the right to benefits applies to Ukrainian citizens who have a certificate issued by the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland or an imprint of the Polish Border Guard stamp in a travel document, confirming legal stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland, after crossing the border from February 24, 2022 , in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine.

- Please confirm whether this law will also cover access to reimbursed: drugs, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices, granted retroactively from February 24, 2022, and whether, therefore, prescriptions already Refugees from Ukraine may be reimbursed for these products displayed. We would like to point out that in the current legal situation, foreigners with refugee status are, in principle, entitled to benefits provided that their status is confirmed by a decision of the head of the commune competent for the refugee's place of residence. So please confirm that the authorities intend to simplify the status of refugees from Ukraine also in this respect - appeals Bożena Janicka.

In a letter to the president of the National Health Fund, the Agreement of Healthcare Employers asks for the urgent introduction of appropriate solutions in consultation with the Ministry of Health, so that there is no doubt that neighbors from Ukraine who find themselves in need are fully entitled to receive financed benefits from public funds, including obtaining prescriptions for reimbursed medicinal products.
