What is the NEP and what does it look like?
NEP comes in the form of a white iridescent powder or white or light yellow lumps. It is most often taken through the nose, by vaporization or orally.
NEP is a chemical compound from the group of synthetic cathinones, drugs used for their stimulant effects. Ingestion of NEP can pose a threat to human life or health as a consequence of severe toxic effects, in particular impairment of cardiovascular function (cardiac arrhythmia, changes in blood pressure, direct cardiotoxic effects), with borderline disorders resulting in unconsciousness with cardiac arrest.
When taken, NEP causes a number of adverse mental and cognitive effects characteristic of cathinone group substances: problems associating names and places, lack of temporal orientation, irritability, hyperactivity, aggression, hallucinations, delusions and suicidal thoughts.
