Recall, as a result of a ransomware attack, hackers seized the medical data of patients performing tests in a network of laboratories. The hackers exposed the results of 50,000 people.
"Each test result contains personal data of the company's client such as name, surname, PESEL and address. In addition, the documents contain the name of the entity ordering the tests, dates and times of ordering and performing the test, numbering to identify the test in ALAB's systems, and all the test results," reports the portal zaufanatrzeciastrona.pl
The case was addressed by the company that owns the laboratories.
"Preliminary analysis of the incident showed that third parties were able to illegally access the following personal data: name, PESEL number, date of birth, place of residence and laboratory test result. As a result, emergency security and communication procedures were implemented to eliminate the effects of the attack and determine the extent of the damage, while informing the administrators whose data had been entrusted to the company for processing. At the same time, the company reported the breach to the President of the Office for the Protection of Personal Data and informed authorized institutions (CERT Poland, the Ministry of Health, the Center for E-Health), as well as filed a notice of suspicion to the police Central Office for Combating Cybercrime," the release reads.
The Company assures that the case is being treated with the highest priority and seriousness. The Company's main goal is to clarify the incident in cooperation with authorized public institutions.
