A guest on the Graffiti program stressed that talks on the program and the coalition agreement are crucial, as taking responsibility for the ministries depends on them.
Marcelina Zawisza is a member of the Sejm Health Committee in the ending parliamentary term. At the end of September, she took part in an election debate on health organized by the Supreme Medical Chamber. At the time, she stressed that the most important demand to be implemented is precisely to increase health care expenditures. Marcelina Zawisza also said that there is a need to transfer competencies, so that the doctor can deal with real treatment. On the other hand, there is also a need to strengthen the role of the Patient Ombudsman.
- Today it has a limited budget and limited capacity to function. The NFZ is concerned with guarding the piggy bank, not with making sure that the benefits are delivered well. We need to focus on increasing the number of benefits and on making sure those benefits reach people. We also need to appreciate non-medical employees, who are also part of the hospital," said Marcelina Zawisza.
As she acknowledged in September, the shortage of doctors is an ailment of the Polish health care system, but each university should give a guarantee that the graduate who graduates from it will be able to ensure the safety of all its patients.
