- Today we meet on the occasion of World Health Day, and we wanted to take this opportunity to invite everyone to take care of their health in various ways. Above all, however, to change your lifestyle philosophy," the health minister said.
As Adam Niedzielski reminded us, according to Marc Lalonde's concept, we are responsible for more than 60 percent of our health ourselves, through how we eat and whether we lead an active lifestyle. However, taking care of one's health also means regular checkups. Meanwhile, as it turns out, only 1.75 billion people have so far benefited from the Prevention 40+ program. That's less than 10 percent of the population eligible for the free examinations provided by the initiative.
- We invite you to do these examinations, to take a postcovid balance sheet of your health, and let this balance sheet be a reason to take care of your health anew, make some resolution, eat rationally and start exercising," the minister said.
National Health Fund President Filip Nowak, in turn, recalled that in addition to the Prophylaxis 40+ program, a number of screening tests are also available, and prevention and health promotion desks have been set up in all provincial branches of the National Health Fund. The self-service stations offer on-the-spot key medical measurements that determine the risk of civilization diseases. Professional counselors also work there, who can offer participation in preventive programs or take advantage of free diets from the NFZ.
- I also encourage you to go to the National Health Fund website in the morning and see what we offer every Wednesday. We offer prevention Wednesdays and you can really find interesting information there," Filip Nowak added.
