The Minister of Health has appointed a team to draft regulations governing the nursing and midwifery professions

The team is to be tasked primarily with analyzing and verifying the current laws in the field of nursing and midwifery, concerning: the practice of the nursing and midwifery professions, obtaining the right to practice as a nurse and midwife, professional education for nurses and midwives, and postgraduate education for nurses and midwives. It will also deal with the preparation of draft regulations governing the nursing and midwifery professions, together with an explanatory memorandum and an assessment of the impact of the regulations

The team will be headed by - Mariola Glowacka, MD, PhD, Professor at the Mazovian Academy in Plock, Professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus University, Chairman of the National Accreditation Council for Schools of Nurses and Midwives. Her deputies will be Dr. Anna Janik, Vice President of the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives, and Edyta Gadomska, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Personnel Development at the Ministry of Health. Also participating in the work will be: Ewa Majsterek, Head of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education at the Department of Medical Personnel Development at the Ministry of Health, and representatives of the Supreme Council of Nurses and Midwives, the All-Poland Trade Union of Nurses and Midwives, and the Polish Nursing Association, among others.

The first meeting of the Team is to be convened no later than 30 days after the Ordinance enters into force. The Team will terminate its activities as of the date on which the Chairman submits to the Minister of Health the draft regulations governing the nursing and midwifery professions, but no later than April 29, 2024.
