MZ appoints team to look into healthcare quality indicators

The Order of the Minister of Health dated September 4, 2023 on the establishment of a Team for the development of recommendations on health care quality indicators was published in the OJ of the Ministry of Health.

The Team consists of:

1) Chairman - Dr. Bernard Wasko, director of the National Institute of Public Health PZH - National Research Institute;

2) Deputy Chairman - Dominika Janiszewska-Kajka, deputy director of the Treatment Department at the Ministry of Health;

3) Deputy Chairman - Filip Urbanski, Deputy Director of the Department of Analysis and Innovation at the National Health Fund;

4) Deputy Chairman - Sylwia Wądrzyk, Director of the Department of Customer Service and Prevention at the National Health Fund;

5) Deputy Chairman - Magdalena Wojdowska, Director of the Cabinet of the Fund President at the National Health Fund;

6) Members:

(a) three representatives of the Treatment Department at the Ministry of Health,

(b) three representatives of the Department of Public Health at the Ministry of Health,

(c) four representatives of the Department of Analysis and Innovation at the National Health Fund,

(d) three representatives of the Cabinet of the Fund President at the National Health Fund,

(e) two representatives of the Department of Customer Service and Prevention at the National Health Fund,

(f) four representatives of the Department of Health Care Services at the National Health Fund,

(g) a representative of the Department of Drug Management at the National Health Fund,

h) two representatives of the Center for Monitoring Quality in Health Care,

i) two representatives of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tarification,

(j) a representative of the National Institute of Public Health PZH - National Research Institute.

The tasks of the Team are to develop and make recommendations for the implementation of health care quality indicators separately for the clinical, consumer and management areas, including:

1) to identify health care quality indicators and establish a timetable for their implementation in the health care system;

2) Developing values for health care quality indicators;

3) Development of a methodology for measuring health care quality indicators;

4) Identify relevant variables that affect the value of health care quality indicators from a clinical perspective;

5) to determine the rules for billing health care services with the use of correction coefficients related to obtaining the appropriate value of health care quality indicators for the benefits to which they relate.
