Closer to Europe
The NPT aims to significantly increase the number of collected and transplanted cells, tissues and organs in Poland, aiming to get closer to European indicators in this field.
The main goal of the National Transplant Program is to improve the situation of transplantation, both in terms of quantity and quality. The specific goals of the NPT include supporting treatment processes through cell, tissue and organ transplantation, developing a network of transplant coordinators and increasing the number of medical personnel involved in this area. The program also involves improving the knowledge, skills and competence of those responsible for the procurement and transplantation of cells, tissues and organs.
NPT also focuses on upgrading the infrastructure and institutions involved in transplantation. Through the development of transplantation entities, tissue and cell banks and medical diagnostic laboratories, the program aims to increase the efficiency and quality of services provided. Another element is also the modernization and improvement of transplant registries, which will make it possible to monitor the quality of transplantation services.
Education
The National Transplant Program also includes activities to raise public awareness of transplantation and organ donation. As part of the program, educational campaigns are planned that will bring the current legal arrangements for donation closer to the public, as well as talks on treatment using transplanted organs, tissues and cells.
NPT's directions include investments in medical personnel, infrastructure of transplant-related entities, and promotional and educational activities.
