The Ministry of Health's program, Prevention 40 PLUS, was launched in July 2021. People who are at least 40 years old can take advantage of it. However, there is no upper age limit, and the oldest patients who took the program's tests were over 100 years old.

The program offers free examination packages for ladies and gentlemen. Which tests a patient receives in the package depends on the results of a questionnaire, filled out before the e-referral is issued.

A research package for ladies may include:

  • Peripheral blood count with percentage pattern and platelets
  • Total cholesterol concentration or control lipid profile
  • blood glucose level
  • Liver tests (ALT, AspAT, GGTP)
  • blood creatinine level
  • general urine examination
  • blood uric acid level
  • fecal occult blood - by immunochemical method (iFOBT)
  • blood pressure measurement
  • Measurement of weight, height, waist circumference and calculation of body mass index (BMI).

Men additionally gain PSA testing, which is essential for detecting prostate hypertrophy and prostate cancer.

The first step for those wishing to take advantage of the program is to fill out a questionnaire about their health. It can be filled out in the Internet Patient Account (IKP) or in the myIKP mobile app. It can be found under the "Prevention" tab. You can also fill out the survey over the phone, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., by calling the toll-free number 989. You can also do it at a medical facility that implements the program. Once the survey is completed, up to a maximum of two business days, an e-referral is issued for a free package of tests, which can be performed at one of nearly 2,500 points across the country. When going for the test, you need to bring your ID card.

A new feature of the 40 PLUS Prevention Program is the possibility of retesting. This can be done 12 months after the previous e-referral has been completed. You don't have to fill out a questionnaire to take advantage of this opportunity. The referral will appear on the IKP automatically.
