Patients from the Świętokrzyskie region with better access to daytime chemotherapy in lung cancer

- The patient will be treated at in one-day and outpatient mode, without the need to stay overnight in the hospital. Until now, after the consultation, the patient was referred to other centers for oncological therapy, which significantly extended the time needed for necessary treatment - informs Dr. Youssef Sleiman, director of the Provincial Specialist Hospital. St. Rafał in Czerwona Góra.
Establishing a daytime chemotherapy unit is to be shorten the waiting time of patients for treatment, which is an extremely important aspect in the process of oncological treatment.
- Patient will be surrounded by professional medical care, from diagnostics to treatment and rehabilitation, by the same medical team. In addition, due to the fact that the Hospital is a multidisciplinary entity, oncological patients who develop comorbidities will receive comprehensive treatment - emphasized Dr. Youssef Sleiman.
The investment cost 4.1 PLN million and was co-financed with the amount of nearly PLN 3.2 million from the funds of the self-government of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. Yesterday the renovated and modernized pulmonary and allergy ward was opened in the hospital.
