Prescriptions for narcotic and psychotropic drugs under new rules

According to a decision by the Health Ministry, as of November, prescriptions for drugs containing narcotics or psychotropic substances are only available in electronic form. This means that paper prescriptions issued after this date will not be able to be filled. In turn, those written earlier will only be able to be filled until the end of the month.
"It should be borne in mind that the time limit for filling prescriptions for a drug containing any narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, for preparations containing these drugs or substances and category 1 precursors, regardless of the form of these prescriptions (paper or electronic) is unconditionally 30 days from the date of the prescription.
Thus, a paper prescription prescribing this type of drug, issued, for example, on October 20, 2023, in view of the changes, which come into force on November 1, 2023, will be able to be successfully filled, with a deadline of no later than November 19, 2023," reads the Health Ministry's announcement.
