More than 10,000 exercise groups nationwide and about 160,000 children supported - this is the projected reach of the new ProHealthy Holiday Half-Care Program. Children and adolescents will receive comprehensive care - during the semi-colonies they will be able to spend time actively, but most importantly they will receive access to the services of specialists such as nutritionists, psychologists and physiotherapists.

The program's operator will be the Academic Sports Association Headquarters in Warsaw. It will implement the program in cooperation with local governments and entities such as foundations and associations that activate society throughout Poland.

- Thanks to the Pro-Healthy Holiday Half-Care Program, children will be guaranteed at least three hours of varied physical activity per day and will gain access to psychologists, nutritionists and physiotherapists. Access to experts who will help diagnose children's mental and physical condition makes our program absolutely unique," Sports and Tourism Minister Kamil Bortniczuk said at a press briefing.

Ministerial funding for the program will be used to pay the salaries of those who conduct sports activities during the half-schools, psychologists who conduct psychological workshops, nutritionists who conduct dietary classes, physiotherapists who conduct fitness diagnosis of half-school participants, and additional attractions, such as going to the swimming pool, excursions, outings to sports, culture and art institutions, etc. In total, we anticipate subsidizing more than 10,000 exercise groups nationwide, bringing the total number of program participants to more than 160,000.

- We already have extensive experience in conducting competitions, games, camps, regional and national training. Half-schools are also conducted by our centers, so we know well the nature of such actions as well as the needs of the organizers. Our experience and broad organizational structure will certainly help in the implementation of this valuable program implemented thanks to the support of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism," stressed Dariusz Piekut, Secretary General of AZS.

As part of the health-promoting semi-college, each child will receive an individual program participant's diary, which will include information about the program, principles of good nutrition, recommendations for physical activity, contacts in case of child abuse situations, and recommendations from specialists: a physiotherapist, nutritionist and psychologist for the parents of the child in question, and a certificate of the child's participation.

Recruitment for the Program has already begun. The first round of applications will end on June 12, and the results of the call will be announced on June 23.

Applications can be submitted through the website Operator

The program's budget is PLN 50 million.
