Record three billion zlotys for psychiatry. What will the money be used for?

The funds are earmarked for investment in medical facilities - in their construction, modernization and modern equipment.

The implementation of the investment will translate into:

• increased accessibility to benefits:
• there will be a reduction in the wait for an appointment or hospitalization
• new forms of care will be created, particularly in counties that have limited access to psychiatric care
• the care provided will be comprehensive - after leaving the hospital, the patient will be provided with continuation of inpatient/outpatient treatment.
• improving the state of the infrastructure used to provide services:
• The old, dilapidated buildings will be replaced by new ones adapted to the needs of diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric patients,  
• Multi-occupancy rooms with shared bathrooms in the corridor will be replaced by 1-3 person rooms with separate toilets,
• modern equipment will be purchased to support the diagnostic and treatment process

All information on the requirements to be met in order to apply for funding is available from today on the Ministry of Health website: Selection of proposals for strategic projects for subsidizing tasks involving the construction, reconstruction, modernization or retrofitting of strategic infrastructure of entities performing therapeutic activity in the type of inpatient and round-the-clock health services in the field of psychiatric care and addiction treatment, under contract with the National Health Fund.

The call for applications will begin on May 6 and run until August 31, 2024.
