Moderna preparations are to be delivered first, Pifzera vaccines will be delivered a bit later. Grzegorz Cessak hopes that despite the declining interest in vaccinations, many Poles will decide to protect themselves and their relatives.
- Vaccinations with the third dose were performed in the number of 13.5 million. Interest in vaccinations is falling across the European Union. However, it should be remembered that vaccination successfully inhibited the formation of subsequent mutations of the virus. If we started these vaccinations, let's stick to the end - said the president of URPL.
As he added, vaccinations give good immunity, but after some time it decreases, so it is necessary to take further doses of the preparation.
- Research shows that sometimes immune memory declines sharply after two months after vaccination, and in others it persists after six months. Vaccination raises the level of antibodies and protects us against severe course, hospitalization, death or complications after the disease - reminded Grzegorz Cessak.
The new vaccines, adapted to the Omikron BA.1 variant, are effective at the level of 90%. The original preparations gave about 80 percent. effectiveness. Clinical trials have confirmed that the safety profile is the same as for previous versions of the vaccines.
