Hematological neoplasms are diseases of a high risk of the lymphatic and skeletal systems and their treatment requires effective and quick treatment. The lack of reliable data makes it impossible to determine the scale of the problem, including the number of cases, morbidity, number of convalescents, speed of diagnosis implementation and treatment initiation, and its effectiveness. The lack of data also makes it impossible to assess risk factors such as regional variation in incidence, mortality and survival.

The recommended solution is to create a medical register that collects data on hematological neoplasms - the Polish Onko-haematological Register "PROH".

Thanks to the register, it will be possible to assess risk factors for regional differentiation in incidence, mortality and survival of patients with oncohaematological diseases. In addition, the register will allow the development of treatment standards and their evaluation as well as the identification of the number of patients requiring modern therapies.

It is assumed that implementing the registry will allow for:
1) creating a uniform system for registering new cancer cases of lymphoid and hematopoietic tissue (according to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Medical Problems ICD-10: C81 – C96, D45-D47);
2) preparation of the basis for population-based epidemiological studies enabling reliable analyzes of the frequency and trends of the above-mentioned cancers in real time;
3) assessment of the frequency of individual neoplasms of the lymphoid tissue, blood system and related tissues;
4) monitoring the health of service users in the field of diseases of the lymphatic tissue, circulatory system and related tissues depending on the therapy used;
5) monitoring the effectiveness and quality of treatment of oncohematological diseases depending on the therapy used and the patient's condition, the stage of the cancer and the treatment used;
6) registration of long-term results and consequences of treatment depending on the therapy used;
systematic publication of reports on the basis of data collected in the register.
