As Waldemar Kraska reminded, outlays for emergency medical services amounted to PLN 3.799 billion in 2023, compared to PLN 1.866 billion in 2015. There are currently more than 1.6 thousand emergency medical services in Poland, and they are distributed evenly throughout the country so that the time to reach patients is as short as possible - regardless of where they live.
- When I became Government Plenipotentiary for State Emergency Medical Services in 2019, we decided to gradually replace ambulances for the Emergency Medical Service, so that ambulances are no more than 5 years old. As of 2019, thanks to funds from the state budget and EU funds, we have replaced 540 ambulances," the deputy health minister stressed.
- This funding is another step in the investment offensive and implementation of the Medical Fund, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Poland, and at the same time complements the previous support dedicated to medical rescue in the form of support for hospital emergency departments," added Deputy Health Minister Marcin Martyniak.
