"The National Institute of Cardiology has already established itself, but there are further challenges ahead. My primary goal is to serve patients. That's why I focus on quality in treatment, science and education. I focus on young medical staff. We have a well-prepared group of young cardiologists. I very much look forward to working with them," - Prof. Janina Stępińska, MD, said during the presentation of the appointment.
Janina Stępinska is a professor of cardiology, attached to the Institute of Cardiology until 2021. At the National Institute of Cardiology, she created the Department of Cardiac Intensive Care, which she headed until 2019. She also led the Acquired Heart Defects Clinic from 2003 to 2020. From 2022, she took charge of medical communications at the CMKP School of Public Health.
She was president of the Polish Society of Cardiology from 2011 to 2013, and received the highest honor in 2022: Honorary Membership of the PTK.
She has authored and co-authored more than 300 publications, including in NEJM, European Heart Journal, Chest.
