The planned launch of alcohol sales on the Allegro platform has been put on hold. The decision was made in connection with the ongoing legislative work on the amendment of the Act on Upbringing in Sobriety, which may significantly affect the rules for selling alcoholic beverages in Poland.
Recall that Allegro had planned to expand its offer to include the alcohol category as part of a pilot program. Sales of alcoholic products were to begin on October 21, but as a result of planned legal changes, the start of this project was put on hold.
One of the main reasons for the postponement of pilot alcohol sales is the work on amending the Law on Upbringing in Sobriety. The government has announced changes that may introduce new regulations on alcohol sales in Poland, especially in the context of e-commerce. The new regulations could significantly affect the market and the rules for the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages.
