Once again, this time the deadline for the Team for Developing Guidelines for Medical Entities on Procedures for Termination of Pregnancy to present guidelines on the subject to the Minister of Health has been extended to January 31. Originally it was to be done by September 12, then the deadline was moved to November 15.

The establishment of the team was the aftermath of the case of the death of a patient at a hospital in New Market, who died of septic shock and was admitted to the hospital after her fetal waters broke at 20 weeks' gestation.
According to an order from June of this year, the Team is tasked with developing guidelines for abortion procedures, including in particular:
1) the way of assessing and confirming the grounds for admissibility of pregnancy termination
2) rationale for the need to order additional medical consultations to determine the health of the pregnant woman
3) how to deal with a pregnant woman in the event that her life or health is found to be in danger
4) training materials for medical staff of gynecology and obstetrics departments
