The foundation's concern is that, in its assessment, the report published by the National Health Fund in December 2023 does not address the most important problems in oncology and does not answer key questions about improving the treatment of cancer patients in the new organizational model.

The letter, signed by CEO Bartosz Polinski, raises questions about whether there has been a reduction in the lead time for oncology diagnostic and treatment services under the pilot. The Foundation also wants to know if there can be any talk of increased cooperation and better coordination between centers, if no data indicate this. Bartosz Polinski also asks whether the quality of the consiliums has improved, and whether each patient was covered by a coordinator, as well as whether there has been an improvement in treatment compliance with diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations.

"Furthermore, your predecessor's decision to oblige all members of the Steering Committee to maintain the confidentiality of the information they obtain is incomprehensible," the letter reads.

In the Foundation's opinion, only the disclosure of all information related to the completed pilot will allow a substantive discussion and create conditions for developing solutions beneficial to Polish oncology patients
