The open call for applications to the Senior Citizens' Policy Council under Senior Citizens' Policy Minister Marzena Okle-Drewnowicz has ended. Candidates could be submitted by universities, NGOs and local governments, among others. Out of 173 proposals, 30 were selected. This is the maximum number, indicated in the order. The Council will hold its inaugural meeting on March 1. Its members will then receive their appointment certificates for a two-year term.

"The Minister would like to thank all the candidates and submitters. All 173 candidates from all over Poland impress with their achievements and accomplishments in activities for seniors, hence the selection was extremely difficult. The final composition of the Council is a combination of different professions, areas of interest, regions and generations. The Council will work pro bono," the government website reads.
Minister Marzena Okła-Drewnowicz looks forward to cooperation in shaping senior citizen policy, especially at the regional level.
