Adoption and implementation of a national Alzheimer's program is needed

Today is European Brain Day. It's an opportunity to talk about the challenges of caring for patients with neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer's disease. In 2019, it ranked 7th among the leading causes of death according to WHO data, along with other forms of dementia. It is the leading cause of disability and dependency among the elderly worldwide.

We spoke with Izabela Dessoulavy-Gładysz, president of the Foundation for Brain Health- Mental Power, and Prof. Tomasz Gabryjelewicz, president of the Polish Alzheimer's Association and head of the Alzheimer's Unit at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration in Warsaw, about the problems and challenges facing patients and clinicians, as well as the upcoming International Alzheimer's Disease Conference, which will take place on 24-26.04 in Krakow, Poland, bringing together participants from more than 120 countries.
