Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna has appointed Agnieszka Neumann-Podczaska, PhD, professor at UMP, as director of the National Institute of Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Rehabilitation.
The new director of NIGRiR is a professor in the Geriatrics Laboratory of the Department of Palliative Medicine at the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań and a graduate of the European Academy for Medicine of Aging (EAMA, IUKB Foundation in Switzerland). She is a pharmacist by training.
The institute was previously headed by Marek Tombarkiewicz, who was dismissed from his position by the head of the ministry on Wednesday.
