Radio Zet is talking about the need to extend reimbursement for cystic fibrosis therapy to more groups of patients. The station quotes Minister Maciej Miłkowski as saying: "The Ministry of Health is in close cooperation with the Cystic Fibrosis Treatment Center in Dziekanow Leśny - the leading center in Poland, working on the optimal solution for patients not yet covered by reimbursement for treatment with CFTR modulators, and the effectiveness of this drug program is very high."
The website of Poland's second largest radio station features photos from the exhibition of works submitted for the "My Life with Cystic Fibrosis" contest, which was held during the Congress and under the patronage of MP Barbara Dziuk.
Puls Medycyny writes about the need for the primary health care system to become more involved in cancer prevention. The service quotes Prof. Adam Maciejczyk, director of the Lower Silesian Center for Oncology, Pulmonology and Hematology and chairman of the National Council for Oncology: "Early detection of cancer has an economic benefit as well. The very fact that all expensive drug programs are dedicated to patients with stage four cancer is the best evidence of this."
The service also quotes Patient Ombudsman Bartholomew Chmiellow as saying about the importance of the Health Care Quality Act: "This law is supposed to completely change the point of view. It is supposed to allow our payer to give a bonus to those entities that provide the best services. To bonus those entities where the clinical value is at the highest level. (...) It is to reward the entities that are best managed. Those that are best rated by patients."
Wprost.pl highlights the importance of one of the most important themes discussed at the VII Patient Empowerment Congress: "On April 25 at the VII Patient Empowerment Congress organized by the Institute for Health Communication, the voice of patient organizations and medical and system experts was heard.
